Company History SIM is synonymous with high quality design jewellery made in silver, gold and white gold. Sim is one of the brands of Sommer Isfort Middelmann Mode GmbH. Since the company was established in 1981 SIM have developed into an active international enterprise. In the beginning SIM produced classic silver jewellery with en emphasis on the interaction between pure geometric forms. In the following years SIM started using precious stones including blue and white topaz, citrine and preidot. In 1993 SIM enlarged the range with 14ct yellow and white gold collection using diamonds and other precious stones. In 1996, SIM's greatest innovation was the use of silver and gold necklaces on steel wire. To set trends was SIM's vision from the beginning. True to the SIM philosophy "The whole is more than the sum of its parts", SIM provides a wide range of jewellery grouped in exhilarating ensembles with every new collection. In 2000 SIM achieved the UK Jewellery Award "Jewellery of the Year" in London. Sim is the first company based outside of the UK to pick up this prize. Further international accolade followed in 2003 as SIM were awarded the "Mb-trophée" at Bijorhca, Paris. for innovation in design, thus confirming the contstant development and progression of SIM jewellery. SIM celebrated its 10th anniversary of retailing in the UK in 2004. The 25th anniversary of the company's establishment will be celebrated in 2006. The SIM collection is currently sold in Germany, Great Britain, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Australia, USA, Sweden, Switzerland and South America. |
